Georgia Convention meets, and receives Commissioners from South Carolina and Alabama.
Virginia legislature passes resolutions proposing the Crittenden Resolutions as the basis for adjustment, and requesting the U. S. Government avoid a collision with the Southern States.
Virginia Governor John Letcher communicates resolutions from the New York State Legislature, expressing the utmost disdain, and saying that "the threat conveyed can inspire no terror in freemen." The resolutions were directed to be returned to the Governor of New York.
Kentucky Legislature meets.
